If you follow Blue House on Instagram, you may have noticed that I have finally upgraded our old IKEA Docksta table (though I did manage to eek out almost another year of use with this hack, sadly it did not survive the move out West). 

I am now the proud owner of what I like to describe as a bona fide grown-up dining table. Personally I think it is splendid, and quite a few of you have been reaching out to ask where I found it so I have to assume you agree. 

I have had my eye on this particular table, the Log table, for a good while now. It was designed by Julien Renault for Swedish furniture brand Hem, a company I first came across as we were putting the finishing touches on our little “hytte" in the woods, and very quickly became obsessed with.

Their designs may be minimalist but they are playful and bold in nature, and each individual piece can serve as an anchor point for the design of an entire space. Take the Palo lounger as an example. Not only would this sofa set the tone for your living room and give it a bit of Scandi character, but because it is modular, this seat is meant to grow with you and your needs.
